TurboMaxx install
Our Sunseeker didn't come with powered vents (other than the bathroom) so I wanted to install one. The Maxxair Turbo/Maxx 1200T with thermostat was a good option because it also allows the vent to be open while it is raining as well as adding a powered fan to the cover.
First things first. Had to remove the trim to see if the vent was prewired. As you can see the light provided easy access to power.
Next we go up top and drill holes in the cowling to mount the mounting tabs. Note no hole were drilled into the roof!
Next, foam tape is applied to the base of the cover.
A hole was drilled in the cowling to pass the wire through. The wires have a grommet to seal out any water.
The cover is then bolted to the mounting tabs.
Lastly, the wires are attached to the control unit which is mounted to the interior trim piece. The wires are passed down the side of the vent screen behind the trim.
The total install time was about 45 minutes. A pretty basic install if you have power already plumbed in to your vent hole.
