RV camping Mt Madonna

Lisa and I went to Mount Madonna to go RV camping. We chose this place because it is close and we had never camped there before. It turned out to be a great trip and super relaxing. The park allows dogs on all the trails but only on leash. The weather was surprisingly cool. It was a reportedly 85 degrees in San Jose, but at our camp, it was 60-72 during the day. Mount Madonna sits half way between Gilroy and Watsonville. It gets the coastal fog when it's hot in the valley. The park has a good variety of hiking trails. Our electric and water hook-up site was $25 a night. Kinda steep if you as me, but still worth it. We will be going there again for sure.

e camped in Valley view 1 where there is electric and water hookups but no sewer. There was a dump station very close by though.

We were fortunate enough to get a site that was tucked nicely away in the Oak and Redwood Trees.

The nights and morning were chilly and damp! The coastal fog was pretty thick. But the afternoons were blessed with sunshine.

So most of our time was spent outside under the trees working on a puzzle. I bought this Thomas Kinkade puzzle that had 750 pieces.

Lisa and I only hiked a little because of her being pregnant. But we did manage to hike one trail called the Giant Twins Trail. There are two redwoods that are certified by some arborist society to be over 200 years old.

Todd and Tina came up to have dinner with us on the first night. We had Filet and Chicken with Corn on the cob. They brought over smores.

Scout had a good time at Mount Madonna. The park allows dogs on all trails on leash.

So on the last morning I decided to make some campfire coffee while Lisa was sleeping and while I was waiting for AMR to call me to give me my schedule. I managed to dump my first try into the fire on accident. After an hour, I managed to brew up some great coffee.
